The Chariot

The Chariot

The Bhagavad Gita – God Talks with Arjuna.

BG3.43: Thus knowing the Soul to be Superior to the material Intellect, O mighty Arjun, subdue the self (senses, mind, and intellect) by the self (strength of the Soul), and kill this formidable enemy called lust.

Krishna the Divine Higher Mind advised we should slay the enemy called lust by knowing the SELF.

This yearning and seeking we try and fulfil on the material level unconsciously through ever changing desires and unrestrained senses can never fulfil our Soul.   Seeking in the material world for what can only be found deep within self is futile.   We must turn within, knowing ourself seeking deeper union with Divine Source of ALL found within the deepest chambers of the heart.  Then with renunciation, not attached to the fruits of labour and in Divine service move through life in continued awareness and peace regardless of the external circumstances.

In the Upanishads there is a Chariot (body), Reins (Mind), Charioteer (intellect), Passenger (Soul). The Horses (senses) can run wild from desire, they must be brought under control by the Mind (reins) via Intellect (Charioteer) under the control of the AWAKENED SOUL the Higher self to guide the mind and senses of the lower self.
